Concentrating and Studying

Thu, 06/01/2017 - 00:57
I'm 21 years old, I was diagnosed with JME when I was 13. I've been taking Lamicatal XR 400mg for the past years. My seizures are stressed induced and also due to a hormone imbalance. I'm currently in my third year of college, and I've always had trouble being able to concentrate when it came to studying. I've had this trouble all through high school too. I made it through being a C student, but I know if I could focus I could make better grades. My friends all take Adderall or Vyvanse to help them focus, but I've been too nervous to try it; not knowing what interactions will happen with the Lamicatal. My questions are: Does anyone else have trouble focusing due to their epilepsy? Is there any medication that could help that won't interact with the Lamicatal?

I don't know anything about attention pills but now that I am in in lectures that are 1 hour and 40 minutes, I am having problems concentrating.

Check out interactions from the manufacturer's website. Some "concentration" meds are toxic with AEDs. Seriously. Toxic. Took one once and would rather have the a terrible hangover than ever do that again. I honestly felt like I'd been poisoned.
