socializing and alcohol

So, I know drinking with epilepsy is a no go for most of us. For me, personally, I don't even know what it is like to be intoxicated because I am seizing long before I have a chance (I am talking two drinks tops and I am full tonic-clinic). Because of this I feel somewhat embarrassed and isolated and really afraid of going out with friend for fear of having a seizure (twice I woke in the hospital over the years, once after a helicopter ride due to status epilepticus and not breathing). I hear a lot about hangover causing seizure, wondering if anyone else has alcohol as a trigger while drinking, particularly small ammounts. I feel like I am the only one and the doctors keep telling me alcohol doesn't cause seizure but I legerally seize every time I try to have even one drink.

I have been arrounf many years. I have been living and dealing with epilepsy for 50+ years. You will hear many doctors say No Alcohol others will say a drink now and then will not hurt. Which is true.In my 20's and early 30's I went everywhere with friends. They knew I watched the ammount I drank. We closed down the bars and clubs. But I limited my drinks to 1 drink a night. It was usually a glass of wine or a beer which I nursed for over an hour. Everrything else I drank that night was alcohol free. They were called Shirley Temples. The bartenders knew I wanted no alcohol so they made sure I didn't get any. It can be done and you can have a great time with friendsAs for alcoho; causing seizures. It depends on the person. Alcohol calms down the central nervous system which is also what your meds do. too much and cause problems. Think a littel. What do most people dring in Europe while eating?? That also includes the children. Wine would be the first thing. Just like when the colonists were here. Beklieve me the water wasn't good in the cities so they brewed beer or ale and when they wanted something to drink they went into the newer stuff. Less alcohol. I legerally seize every time I try to have even one drink.
