Manipulation to treat

Wed, 11/01/2006 - 02:47
I have a form of epilepsy called, "status epilepticus".I have learned how serious it really is.So do the doctors in the hospital I go to.After few days in status my mother takes me to the hospital to get I.V. adivan {which is the only thing that will bring me out of a seizure}.I have to stay on a sac unit also. I'm having some problems that I don't know what to do about. I had a direct admit a few years ago and it made it easy for my family to take me in. I am 37 have to live with parents and they live 40 miles away.I'm not permitted to drive. This month I went in and stayed where I usually do-even if I'm having seizures I know where Iam,know the staff and doc's,they know exactly what to do for me also. The doctor that was attending for this month made accusations, intimidated me lied to students, told me my doctor approved extra meds, told students and me that my mother uses her job to harass hospital into getting me a bed {she works for a staffing agency}.she said I'm a democrat and how dare you come in and expect to get a bed, 2 NICU patients were before you. Your discharched! She scared me and these students had never met me before. I felt guilty and embarassed she wouldn't let me talk at all. Then she told me the next time I came to the hospital I had to go to emergency like everyone else. That I was taking up a bed that someone who really needed it was out. I called my mom and told her she came to get me and when I woke up the next morning it was starting again.I told my mom to drop me off at emergency and I waited to be taken back.4pm at 12am they gave me meds, then at 4am they rolled me off the stretcher and told me to leave "doc's orders". I was really torn up by her and started having nightmares, acting strange ect..about a week later I went back into status, my doctor said not to give me anything but regular meds. After 3 days he told her to bring me in for an eeg. I was in status! My head started hurting and I cried, a doctor that knows me well saw it and said get her a floor bed now.No beds.He took me down to emergency and they wouldn't give me a bed either.I could see the pain in his eyes knowing I was in status. I had to stay in er for 2 days in the hall with people that should have gone to a mental health hospital. She ordered extra meds and told me my doctor wanted me to take that amount from now on. Then she said,"I want you to have rectal diastat because there's no need for you to be here.Your doctor will write a letter stating what to do and call 911". That would mean all the cities around me could send someone. In one year 50 or more guys could see me and put it in. She said other stuff to try to discredit anyone but herself. I found out it was her that was stopping me from getting a bed and she had been made a director and changed everything.I got her in trouble 6 years ago for treating me with disrepect especially in front of people. I think she is trying to get back at me but doing much more severe actions because she has some power. My doctor is head of neuro. She's an epilepsy doctor/professor.I dont think I should get special treatment but status is pretty bad. What if I went down there to get treated and she wouldn't allow me a bed and I either never came out of status or died.Does anyone know what I should do? It is driving me crazy to think she can do this to me. thanks, holly
