I would have never known

Sun, 07/17/2005 - 00:23
never in my life would I have known that there were so many people out there who are going through the same or almost the same thing that I am . It seems that most of us developed our seizures around the age of 12. That is when I developed min. I have onset primary and secondary genralized seizures. Unfortunately my parents did not bring me to the right doctors and also it was not as understood 23 years ago as it is now. All I wanted to say is Thank you to all of you for being there. It has helped a great deal. I have been through so many rough times in my life and they are just getting worse but I will NEVER give up the fight. Now that I know there is support from people who understand me it helps alot more. I can't tell you how much. I have discriminated against by loosing jobs because of having a seizure on the job, which now I am disabled, to the point of even loosing doctors because they couldn't cure me. Alot of the resources out there even have not done anything for me but one thing I can say is all of the support I have gotten from all of you has so again, from the bottom of my heart.....THANK YOU!!!! If I can ever help anyone I would be happy to!Pam

Yes Pam, This is one really great website and group of supporting people. Something that would be helpful and I'd like to ask for you to do is to keep us up-to-date with how things are coming along for yourself; and also to share your stories, experiences and what all you've learned, to share any or all of it with new people coming into this group. Plus, if you come into contact with any other people with epilepsy, talk to them about this website and community forum so they too can join in.

Thanks bruce and I will tell anyone and already have actually. The other day my brother asked me how I would want him and my mom to better understand my seizures and all I could tell him was the best way was to read the post on epilepsy.com so that maybe they could realize that there are alot of people struggling with E just as I am. That was pretty much the only thing I could tell him being he is not really around alot. Don't you agreePam

Yes Pam, I agree very much. Everything I've learned about epilepsy and seizures as been from my own experience of having it myself, and you surfing the ocean on the internet. Websites worldwide about the subject matter of seizure and epilepsy. It's just a matter of finding the good and best websites with easy to understand information that patients, family, kids amd parents can find. This epilepsy.com website has now become the number 1 site on my list.

If I can help your brother and mother any, I'll be glad to do so. By here and or email.
