Generic Levetiracetam (Keppra)?

Wed, 10/08/2008 - 19:18
I was just wondering if anyone has heard anything new about Mylan's generic levetiracetam. Articles circulated around this time last year about a settlement with UCB in which Mylan would be able to start marketing its own levetiracetam on Nov. 1. Also, are there any other generic drug companies I may have missed that will start selling the drug soon? I could not afford Keppra so I am using generic Levetiracetam by Cobalt Pharmaceuticals through a Canadian Pharmacy-Northwest Pharm.  3000mg per day cost $210 per month.  I also take Requip generic from Canada as well, for sleep seizures or restless leg syndrome.  These 2 things may be the same for me.  I have a marble size chunk of scar tissue in my right temporal lobe.  If I don't take my requip, I will wake repeatedly from jerking.  With requip I sleep like a baby.  Both Generics cost $260/month.  Sometimes I take an extra 750mg tab at night if I feel "off".  Maybe the generic isn't as steady of a dose,  but the cost of non-generic is more than my mortgage!!!  Go Generic!!  Try Requip...What do you have to loose?

You can see the prices at International Drug Mart and see, you can even save more.If your order more than one monthly from here you can even save more. They also have coupons with which you can save more.

Canadian pharmacies

I have found that buying generic medications in the states can be just as expensive as the name brand drugs depending on which pharmacy you decide to use.  The best way to find the least expensive drugs is to shop around and don't just settle for one price.  You can also have your dr write you two scripts instead of one for a whole month.  I now have my dr write for 15 days on each script.  This way I can spread the monthly copay out over the whole month and not have to pay for it all up front.  Most will let you do it this way, at least at canadian pharmacies: http://www.Canadian-OnlinePharmacies.com
