Childhood Epilepsy Role Model

Thu, 02/14/2019 - 15:55
Hi! I grew up with epilepsy. It went dormant as I became an adult but came back about 9 years ago in a different form. I suffer from temporal lobe seizures and migraines. Because I know the struggles of growing up with epilepsy, I wrote a book for children, ages 8-12, that is book 1 of a series. The main character has epilepsy. She is a great role model and gives children with epilepsy a character to identify with. There are no fictional children's books out there that bring childhood epilepsy into the story. I want all children with epilepsy to know they are not alone, they can do what other kids do and they are stronger and more brave. As an author, I am trying to run a fundraiser for The Epilepsy Foundation where I donate 10% of my royalties from the sale of paperback version of The Woes of a Ginger Named Red--Book 1--The Big Move to The Epilepsy Foundation. I am waiting to hear back from the person in St. Louis offices that I contacted. Wish me luck. I really want to use this book as a tool to help children relate and feel good about themselves. THis book is available in paperback and ebooks (nook, kindle, etc) at Amazon.com and other online retailers. Until then, please help this book reach all the spileptic children, ages 8-12. Thank you!
