My life and epilepsy

Hi, I have been diagnosed with epilepsy one year ago after I went to numerous doctors and they told me I'm just normal and it's normal for my age. (I was 15 at the time) and connected it with "diets" (I have been struggling with anorexia since a very young age, but nobody ever noticed), I continued having seizures until I found a doctor who actually prescribed me pills and diagnosed me. And it really helped. I didn't have any for a month and then the doc changed the dosage and I haven't had any since then. The problem is: my parents have always been blaming technology for everything and now after I have gotten these seizures (1 when on my PC), they wouldn't stop blaming me for ruining myself and continuing to do it. They guilt trip me for the medicine price. I'm curious to know, could technology be the cause of you developing epilepsy? Because I don't think there is a genetic thing involved, my mom is diabetic and has seizures, but they aren't epileptic.

It's common knowledge that flashing lights can spark seizure activity. So, if you're spending the whole day playing flashing video games....that may explain some seizure activity. Other than that, I don't think technology does a whole lot.
