AED's and (libido) are not the problem,but.....

I am only 35yrs old and even with the AED's I take, I have never had trouble with erections. My problem is achieving the "male" orgazim. Physicly, my Doc says every thing I need is there and its all in working order. I discussed this with my Neouro, and "HE" doesn't think it's related to my Epilepsy. He suggested it was psychological.I told him he can rule that out,and I meant it. I left his office with out resolving the issue. I mean, with TLE it is a posibility isn't it? Any one else have this problem? Any input would be welcomed! thanks Patrick

AEDs can cause 3 different types of problems, erection, ejaculation and desire (libido). For me the problem is similar to yours, I can get an erection but usually have sex for what seems like an endless amount and no ejaculation!

It is annoying. I am looking into periactin. I have seen people on antidepressants use this to solve their delayed ejaculation problems. It is a antihistamine/antiserotonin medication.

I have never used anything else like viagra/yohimbine or anything else but if anyone else has, please post!

Hormonal changes can contribute to changes in sexual function, as can side effects of seizure medications, and other meds too! Talk to the doctor about these possible causes. There is a bit of info on the professional site of epilepsy.com, at least something to get your search going. There is more and more research being done on this lately so keep asking! professionals.epilepsy.com/page/specpop_men.html Hope this helps, Epilepsy.com Resource Specialist

Thanks for the reply. I followed A few links I found here and found out it's not as uncommon as I thought. I have chated with with plenty of others since I posted this, and they tell me there just too embarressed too be open about it. Well, I'm alot more frustrated than embarressed. The problome isn't preforming, but in self satisfaction. I have A Doc appointment to start looking into this. I'll keep posting here. Patrick
