Delaying vaccines if doctor suspects seizures ?

Sun, 10/01/2017 - 04:26
Hello Our son is 21/2 yr old. We gave him all his vaccines but wanted to delay MMR and ChickenPox. Now we want to get him into Day Care but they need all the vaccines. With new CA law, philiosphical\religious exemptions have been removed. - He lately started showing speech issues where neurologist suspects seizures and has requested EEG. Is it still ok to give him these shots OR the shots can worse his seizures ? - Worst case if we decide to give him these vaccines, can we take any precautions to reduce the risk level like gap between 2 vaccines etc ?. Would it help if we delay more ? Thanks Pete

I personally wouldn't wait to

I personally wouldn't wait to get him vaccinated, but if he's on a med, it could interact. When I was little (4?) I was on a med that interacted with the chicken pox vaccine, but times have changed over the last 25 years. I'd talk to your neurologist, but vaccines hardly ever cause seizures...
