You have to be careful. For some birth control can decrease in the strength of your AED meds. take care Lisa Http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/

that's exactly why i can't go on birth control. my doctor has said that i'm too doped up (my words, not her's) to go on it. It would basically be pointless, just cost more $ for something that isn't that effective. The thing is i've been pretty regular but lately it shows up about a week early or a week later, which is scary. I don't know if it has something to do with me not moving quite as much. Since I got fired, I haven't done too much moving. That job kept you moving constantly and always on your toes. I think that's why. I've returned to my sloth-like ways and have gotten some surprises on the way.

I was on Ortho-Novum 1/80 for just under a decade & both my GP and my neurologists (lol.. I have had many) knew of that fact. Also, I never had a child during that time proving they they worked -despite the fact that I was also on AEDs. Yet, within 5 months after nixing the birth control pill, I was pregnant. ~sol
