WIth medic alert you have a number on the back that someone could call if something happens. Then the medic alert has all the info and will give it to the hospital. FOr you will give that info and numbers needed to the medic alert in advance. Buying the bracelet from ebay will just say someone has epilepsy. But they dont have a number to call or info to be able to help. lisa http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/epilepsyapproach/

I ordered one from American Medical Id (.com) in the end of April, and it should arrive today or tomorrow. I usually get the cheap stainless steel ones from CVS Pharmacy, but this time I went all out and ordered a custom, engraved, sterling silver bracelet to match my other jewelry. You get to choose the style of nameplate, gold, silver, 14k, 10k, etc., different chains, (they even have a charm bracelet) different clasps, and have it engraved just for you. It has my name, emergency #, lists all (4) of my seizures, and still has pleny of room that I could've engraved more info if neccessary. It was about 60.00, but I added an extra med-id charm (keep hearing stories of emergency personnel not seeing them) and I paid extra for a stronger chain. Once again, it was shipped on Monday (you can pay an extra 6.00 and they'll have it made and shipped in 24 hours) and if anyone wants, I can let everyone know how it looks when I receive it. Susan
