Lamictal - Has it made seizure activity worse for anyone?

Sun, 05/15/2005 - 05:48
Hi everyone...I was wondering if anyone has had increased seizure activity from being on Lamictal (and/or trouble sleeping).  My 6-year old daughter is on 3 meds (phenobarb, trileptal, and lamictal) and it seems to me that when we try to increase her lamictal levels (we have done so in the past) she sleeps less and seizure activity increases.  Just wondering if anyone has experienced the same thing...

Lamictal always kept me awake. But trileptal can decrease low sodium so get that checked often. It will cause seizures if it gets too lowhttp://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpilepsyApproach/

No!  I was taking Depakote previously, and basically was a zombie losing hair and getting quite pudgy. Depakote and I didn't work out.  I slept for over 14 hours a day, lost memory, was "up tight" and the quality of my life, basically sucked.  Doc switched me over to lamactil over a year ago, and I am once again leading a normal productive life.  People who know me cannot believe the difference.

Deigo. Hi. I too got "pudgy" on depakote. It made me a zombie but so did all the other AEDs that I took. What AEDs are you taking now? If it is not too sensitive of a subject for you. How "pudgy" did you get while taking depakote? Blessings. Linda.
