Does VNS affect your sleep?

Sun, 08/10/2014 - 08:09

I am wondering if this device, and the feeling of it (going off and on) is annoying so much that it affects your sleep and relaxation?  I understand the voice problem, and that sounds annoying, but manageable.   I know that I have an ongoing problem falling asleep with even slight annoyances...and waking up during the night, and taking forever to fall asleep again.    I am considering a VNS either instead of surgery, and if WADA shows problems with that.    Doctor even thinks the brain implant (name?) the first and better of either VNS and implant....I need to know plus and minus of each.  Thanks!

I have had a VNS since April

I have had a VNS since April & it has not changed my sleeping habits. The voice thing can be very irritating though. Mine goes off every 3 minutes for 30 seconds, and for that 30 second time period that it is going off, I am very hard to understand.
