I had a right temporal lobectomy in Oct 04 to treat complex partial seizures. I did not have a lesion but the focus was identified there. I managed to go 12 months without a seizure until I fell pregnant with my first child. I suffered 4 grand-mal seizures during this pregnancy and continue to have the occasional seizure now. About 1 per month.

Hi, I had a right temporal lobectomy to remove a glinoma tumor that caused complex seizures in June 1992. I have had auras and simple seizures on and off since then but have suffered with memory problems, depression, learning problems. I havent had any testing for 13 years and am going for some as I have been having stronger auras and simple seizures lately. I have had alot of short-term memory problems, probably due to surgery and having been grown-up on tegretol and dilantin meds my whole childhood. After my surgery I had a couple grand mals too, but havent had any that I can remember since the 2 year period after surgery. As long as the tumor was benign, i was told it is most likly not to come back.

Was your surgery in the mesial temporal lobe by any chance? I could have an anterior temporal lobectomy with removal of some leftover benign tumor that wasn't gotten the first time around. And also was the Hippocampus and other mesial structures taken out in all of your cases? That's where some memory is stored :P
