I would like to chat with someone who has undergone surgery recently for a left temporal lobe seizure disorder.

I would just like to ask you a question pertaining to your surgery. First may I ask if your seizure cause was identified as a child or an adult? What age? Second may I ask what type of after affects or slow downs did you come across if any? Third may I ask if your Hippocampus of the left temporal was removed? Fourth and finally may I ask what type of seizures were you having and for how long?

I had left temporal lobe surgery 3 years and 3 months ago. I have had three seizures since the surgery. One right after, one four days later when I returned home, and the last one about 2 years ago. I was on dilantin when I had each of these seizures. I've since switched to Lamictal. My surgeon felt I would be fine after the surgery and not ever need meds again, but my neuro-oncologist has always believed I should remain on meds. I'm glad that I had the surgery, the tumor I had could have continued to grow, but I would love to not have to take meds. I have MRI's twice a year, and so far so good. If you'd like more details surgery wise, you can email me at juz211611@yahoo.com.
