Do your meds make you gain weight? What do you do to lose the medication weight? :( I feel fat and ugly. Nothing fits me.

Don't be so hard on yourself. I've been on so many meds. in my life - some make me loose weight (usually by feeling like hell if I eat anything) and some make me gain weight. The most recent addition, Keppra is making me put back on what I lost while on Topomax. As far as what to do.... Well, I try my best to cut out certain things @ home. This drives my boyfriend nuts but. * instead of chips we buy rice cakes & rice cake mini's * instead of ice cream I buy yogurt (things like that -- the Dr.Phil Food Guide - just his little food guide helps) * at Wendy's I order salad, not burgers Exercise * if you can afford it, buy a gym membership * if not buy a ball & a book - get into pilates on a ball (it's easy) * walk one way to a grocery store/movie store, etc. - cab back (if they are close) Buy some low cal quick and easy cookbooks too - Betty Crocker's 4 ingredient one is great. And lastly - go on an amazing shopping spree - buy some stuff that makes you look amazing because I'm sure you do! Then, just think spring isn't that far off...set a goal, what size do you wanna be when all the trendy stuff comes out then? Well - get started. It's tough to workout & do stuff in the snow (I'm in Ontario Canada), but at the same time, only bears go into hybernation. Good Luck. Erin

Hey, I'm in ontario, too.

Hey, I'm in ontario, too. There's a bunch of us around here :) I signed up for a belly dance class. The Dr. Phil's Food Guide sounds okay. I don't eat a lot, but I do tend to turn to food for comfort.

Hmmm...where in Ontario? I'm in Kitchener. Just joined a Good Life Fitness gym because Keppra was getting to me. If you're close, maybe we'll run into each other at Good Life. Ya, don't waste your money really on Dr.Phil's large book. The condensed version is decent. That's what got me thinking - yogurt not the mocha-moo-latee from DQ, crackers & rice cakes not chips, etc. It does help! And hey, even in the snow - stay active. Don't become a bear. haha. Nice to meet ya! and back to work for me. EC
