Wada test recovery?

Mon, 08/21/2006 - 19:10
Just checking, I had the test done last week and the bruising is getting worse as is the swelling. Also have a smallish lump at the cathater site. Has anyone else here experienced this following their test? My leg feels fine, no numbness but the site where the procedure was done really hurts and I was just wondering what sort of time frame is realistic for me to consider myself healed. Any info is greatly appreciated. Thanks! M

I was a big chicken when it came to the WADA, and for no reason. Things went pretty well, other than their difficulty getting me to stop bleeding. The doctor was persistant, and pressed my thigh with all of his might for 20-25 minutes (twice) to get my bleeding to stop. I had a pretty big bruise afterward, but that wasn't a shocker! LOL :) I felt fine though. I was more afraid of feeling "out of it" or pre-ictal than anything else. Heather

Regarding your WADA test, I just had one done two days ago. As of today, I am up and about, but kind of sore at the catheter site. The most painful thing for me was the injection of the lidocaine shots. After that, it was mostly uncomfortable. Was your test done on both sides of your brain, or just one? Mine was done on both. I had a collagen Angio-Seal put in to close the incision, so I did not have to have a great deal of pressure to stop the bleeding. I do have a small pea-sized bump, but that will remain @60-90 days until it dissolves. So as of today, I still cannot lift anything over 10 pounds (very difficult with 2 kids) but getting better day by day. I hope this helps you, Diana
