Topamax
Sun, 09/10/2006 - 06:02I've been taking different meds for seizures since I had E, but someone has put to my attention Topamax. Says that it's better and it helps you to lose weight. Is that true? How good is this drug? What are the side effects? If anyone here has taken Topamax please let me know what you think of the drug. Thanks :-)

I have been on Topamax for a couple months and have lost about 10 pounds and I like it! I hope I don't start having any problems with kidney stones or speech problems but so far so good. I also take Lamictal. I was on Keppra but that didn't work that well and when the doctor increased my dose it made me insane. Every med is different for each person. If you generally tolerate the side effects of meds well I would give it a try. Good luck!
