Hello Cedar. My wife just started taking Trileptal (small dosage - 150mg/day), and is having side effects that her doctor is ignaring, and blowing off as 'anxiety'. after she takes it, she seems to get a seizure, and brain buzzing, some nerve pain in her body, but worst of all she gets depressed - talks slower, very lethargic. it's scary. like you, she has always had side effects she has been on. she was just diagnosed with temporal lobe epilepsy, so we'r ein the infancy stages with this epilepsy thing. it seems like Lamictal has worked for you - anything else to add? thx. 3perks

hey, I have to say the same as some others out there, this hasn't done much for me either.  Other than give me a "high" twice a day.  Keppra and Trileptal are my two, a total of 2100mg twice a day.  Whether I eat or not, I still have the double vision and out of wack feeling.  Along with all of that, I still have my seizures just as often.

I feel for those of you who have gained weight, I did too at first, about a year later I went back to my normal self though.  I have to play with my little one more often and try not to eat those bad things in life.  I can not have coffee or chocolate, caffine causes some of my seizures, so I guess that can help with the weight lose too.

GOOD LUCK TO YOU ALL!

I am on trileptal and I was on phenobarbital and was just taken off of good. Just a word of advise. Trileptal cause low sodium and will cause a grand mal if the sodium gets too low. So get blood work to keep an eye on it. I get mine at least once a month. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpilepsyApproach/Lisa
