Home from having Brain Tumor removed

hello there,I have posted many times here and thought I would update all of you on my progress. A week ago yesterday I had brain surgery to have a right temporal lobe meninigoma brain tumor removed. The surgery lasted about 7 hours. The tumor was larger than is presented on my many MRI's. It was actually about the size of a golf ball. It also had started growning into my skull. I was finally released from the hopsital on Tuesday. I have double vision all of the time and am hopeful this will go away once all of the swelling is gone. I continue to take my zonegram for seizures, and all is well in that area. I ask that for those of you this does not offend, to please keep my and my husband in your prayers for a quick and event free recovery ~ my hubby is so precious and dear and is here for my every want and need is provides such wonderful care.Thank you for all the wonderful advice that is provided here on this board! Love to you all,Kelli

I just thought I would give an update on my progress.I have been doing pretty well. I have to adjust my activity level and understand that I am not able to do the amount of activities that I might think I am able to. I get very tired quickly. I had my staples taken out Friday and my Neurosurgeon is very pleased with my recovery but is very conconerned with my double vision. It is not getting any better ~ and at times it is getting worse. We are hoping that it is due to intercranial swelling and it will subside. THe best part is that I have not had any seizure activity since the removal of the tumor ~ I am so happy about this! I hope that this continues!!Much love,Kelli

Kelli, I will also have you in my prayers. I had a large abscess (I can't really compare a size to anything, but maybe an orange??? or slightly larger) in my right frontal lobe removed last year. It had gotten so big, it was "butterflied" into my left lobe also. The chief part of my surgery was in the right frontal lobe, so I know some of what you are going through. If you want to email me privately to talk, please do so at bookaholic58@cableone.net.
