Diagnosed this past year with complex partial seizures. Doc put me on Topomax and I felt like sleeping ALL of the time. He then tried me on lamictal and I had an allergic reaction. They put me on keppra.Any advice, please?? I'm on 500mg twice a day. I've been on it for 3 days. With the seizures and changing of medication, I feel a huge loss of control with my life. Any advice would be appreciated.Michele

I was diagnosed with Tonic-Clonic at the age of 13. For the past 11 years I have also experienced Absence, Simple/Complex Partial Seizures. I have been on so many differend medications that it is so frustrating that none have had any affects.

I visit my specialist every six months and at my last visit I had recorded 32 mixed episodes within the previous six. Over the past couple of years I have been to do EEG-video monitoring. During 2 x 14day times in hospital I only had one Absense episode which didn't really give anything on the monitor... So the option of surgery was dismissed.

Over the past week I have had many short Absence and Simple Part. that I am scared to be on my own if I start to have funny sensations.

At the last visit to my Doc he put me on Keppra. I am on 1000mg twice a day together with 200mg of Lamictal twice a day. They both seem to have no affect on my seizures at all.

My next visit is in June and I want to discuss the option of surgery again.

Could anyone give me any advice from your experiences or anything...
