Aimee,
I had my surgery in Dallas, Texas...at the University of Texas Health Science Center. It's a wonderful place. Jackie

Dear Diana,
Having my RTL removed was the best thing I ever did. I was 36 at the time and had dealt with E since the age of 3. (I got mine from a fever of 106 degrees.) Before having surgery, I had been on every AED available in the United States, and every combination of them possible. I couldn't drive for 13 years as an adult because my sz were out of control. The took my license away when I was 23.
I had my RTL removed 12/8/92 and haven't had a seizure since (12 1/2 years). I've been off of all AEDs since 9/94. I got my license back 8 mos. after surgery and am now working as a secretary in a State mental hospital 30 miles away from my home. I'm driving an hour a day and very, very thankful to have my life back. I wish you all the luck in the world and hope all goes well for you next week. Jackie
