right frontal lobe surgery-may have it very soon!

This ? has been asked before, but I'll try again. not much response to the last person who asked. i guess not many people have frontal lobe surgery. my 25yo daughter may be a good candidate for it. i want to know more about the effects of this surgery on others. she had a brain tumor as a baby and had radiation treatment and surgery at that time. she is cognitively impaired due to above, as well as the epilepsy and high dose meds. we're so worried. it's such a gamble-will her functioning improve or get worse? there will not be a definitive answer to this dilemma, i know. other people's experiences would be helpful. thanks

Hi, I am 32 years old I have had seizures sense the age of nine months of age. I have been on dilantin for 31 years and I have had the same problems with the medicine it would work good for a time and then I would have a seizure the next week, the next month and I had a time in my life I would go seizure free for about three and half years. In 1998 I would have a seizure at work for the first time and the manager thought it was from the heat and I would tell her the next day I was just hot and the heat got to me. The manager didn't think much about it, but when I had a seizure six months later on the job I would be told due to my medical problems it would not be safe to continue working there, that was there way of saying get lost. I would continue to have problems at my knew job and a year later I would loose that job will you get the idea. This past year I was put on lamictal 400mg. a day and keppra 2,000mg. a day I have no side affects I feel good and have been seizure free seven months. I saw my neurologist this past april and he wanted me to have the epilepsy monitor with video test so two weeks later I went in the hospital and in two days of being off the medicine I would have nine seizures that was recorded. I would see the neurologist in two weeks and he told me I am canidate for surgery. The reason for my seizures is scar tissue on the right temporal lobe from child birth. I told my doctor that the medicine lamictal and keppra are working good for me and he said in your case it would be like the dilantin it would work for a time and the seizures would return. I was told I have 80 percent chance of never having seizures again so I have decided to put it all on the line for chance of being free of these seizures. My e-mail address is dennis.6461@yahoo.com if you would like to send a message on epilepsy. Take care, Dennis

My sister had a left temporal lobectomy on June 29. She is having terrible issues with pain and is now back in the hospital. Did you have any issues with pain? How long was your recovery?
