Vagus Nerve Stimulation Therapy
Tue, 02/01/2005 - 00:45I am looking for some one that has had the VNS implant procedure done. My family is considering the procedure for my brother and we would like to speak with someone that has had the procedure done and would be willing to share their success or failure with this device. We have done much research on the web, however most if not all of the information is provided by Cyberonics who sells the device and physicians who perform the procedure. Of course the information that we are getting from Cyberonics is that it is the miracle cure for seizures and the physicians only know about "studies". If there is anyone out there that could share, we would greatly appreciate it.
Best Regards,
Rod

Linda,
I have grand mal (tonic-clonic) seizures. I have taken so many aed drugs I cannot count them all. I have walked around like a zombie for the last several months. Could not find any combination to control the seizures. I have had surgeries before and had no problems. Thanks for your thoughtfullness. I am on a cancellation list so if the neurosurgeon has anybody to cancel I'm up. But I think I'm ready to get this over with and start living a normal life again. What type of seizures do you have and what aed drug are you on.
Thanks,
Tim

Linda,
My VNS date will be the 1st of June. The doctor was one of the 1st doctors to implant the VNS around rhis area. (that makes you feel better). I hope this works because I'm a Detective which I'm on desk duty. We'll see what happens.
Thanks for reply
