lamictal for complex partial seizures

Thu, 05/12/2005 - 14:26
Dr. just suggested me to switch from trileptal to lamictal after 2 months of trial on trileptal, which seems doesn't work for me. Does anyone have well control of complex partial seizures using lamictal? Thanks.

Yes.... I have full control of my seizures now with Lamictal. I gone through Keppra and dilantin and did not work at all... Lamictal is working fine with me , i have not had any symtoms of a seizures that are trying to attack me.... Just remember that lamictal does not work for everyone , keep that in mind and don't let it get you down if you have another attack....If you a mild seizure try to relax and take deep breaths and keep focus if someone is there with you or if you are sitting alone watching tv. best thing prevent from having one is to get enough sleep , don't stress and relax. Ask your dr. to give you backup medication of Ativan incase you have a seizure. This drug kills the seizures from knocking you out. It's the same thing they give you at the hospital.. only take one and the drug will kick in about 15 minutes... keep me posted on how you are feeling . email me at [email protected]

yes, yes, yes. lamictal have done wonders for me after a nightmare stint on tegretol. i have trouble sleeping sometimes but it has been a blessing. i have partial and grand. it is very important for me to take it on a regular schedule. if i am late i can feel it creeping up on me. also, unlike most side effects i have lost weight and do not feel a lot of hunger... good luck to you
