Left Temporal Lobectomy and Brain Mapping

Hey all,
Well, I have my surgery scheduled. I go in on the 21st of August for brain mapping and have the surgery on the 25th.
I've read all the material out there about surgery AND brain mapping. What I'm wanting to know is...what was the brain mapping experience like for YOU? And also, I would love to hear YOUR surgery story! I would like to hear it ALL, the good, the bad and the everything. :) I want to hear about what you were going through while waiting on the surgery day to come and I also want to hear what you went through afterwards. (physically, emotionally, etc.)
Yes, I'm nervous, scared, anxious, but ready to get this over with NOW!

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow. If you ever have any questions about the tests that you'll be going through to see if you are a candidate? There are so many people on here that have "been there". Please, if you don't mind, let me know what the dr says. :)

Hi GMC,
How did the dr visit go? The tests can look overwhelming when first starting out, but once you're done. It's such a relief. I pray the best results for you.
I remember being scared of the testing process too. :)

Hi Keri, I have had epilepsy for 36 yrs. I have been on numerous medications and none of them work. I have 3-5 seizures a night. I am at the end of my rope right now as well. I am going to the dr tomorrow and tell him I want to start the tests for surgery. The tests and the surgery scare me but telling me I am not a canidate for surgery also scares me. I think you are right that prayer is very important at this time. I had to do a lot of soul searching just to get to this point. We'll see what the dr says.
