pregnancy and keppra

Tue, 12/27/2005 - 13:01
Hello everyone I am 28 years old, female, with JME. My doctor has switched me from Depakote to Lamictal and now Keppra. I take Keppra 1000mg a day. Is there anyone, who is on Keppra, who is pregnant or who has had a baby. There is a ton of information of Lamictal and pregnancy but not much of Keppra and pregnancy. My husband and I want to start planning for a family, but we are VERY nervous. My ob/gyn put me on a prenatal vitamin and extra folic acid. I would appreciate any information from anyone. -aspepath

Hi I was diagnosed with JME in 98', I have had only one grand mal seizure in all my life. I have been taken 500mg of depakote since then and with no serious side effects, in 2000 I tried on switcing to lamictal but I felt really depressed and with a lot of anxiety, so I decided to swith back to depakote. I got married in 2006 and now I have discussed with my husband the posibility of having a baby, so my neurologist told me that I had to switch to keppra since is one of the best medicines available for babies out there, but im really really nervous on the possible side effects.... and I dont even know if keppra is going to bring the seizures or the jerks back... I have been free of them for almost 10 years now so imagine....

Anyway I feel positive and optimistic and praying to god everyday so my body accepts the keppra well.... any information or advice you have?? in regards to alcohol consumption or driving a car during the switch?? Is not like im an alcoholilc or anything hahaha but I do go out with my husband for the ocassional drinks....

tks to everyone...

This year 2019 has been so

This year 2019 has been so blissful to me for God has given me a reason to live happily again after been heart broken for 3 months when my husband neglected me and went back to he's mistress. I suffered and went through all types of emotional tortures for i couldn't get any help to get my man back not until i was refereed to Lord Zakuza by my co-worker who gave me her full assurance about him that he can be of help to me. I got in touch with Lord Zakuza and i hearken to his words and followed the instructions given to me by him. Could you believe that my husband got back home within 12 to 16 hours as said by him and today, my marriage is restored & i'm so thankful, appreciative & grateful to God for using Lord Zakuza to get my man back after 3 months of broken marriage. Is there anyone out there who needs to get back to he's or her lover back or needs any help of any kind? Then, i suggest that you get in touch with Lord Zakuza now through his Email ID: [email protected] OR you can WhatsApp him too on + 1 (740) 573–9483 for more information. God bless you sir. I am 28 years old.  I have been on a variety of drugs to treat my JME (Topamax, Depakote, Lamictal, & Keppra).  I have a very intelligent, healthy 18 month old son!  When I was pregnant, I was taking 1500 mg of Keppra daily along with a lot of folic acid (even prior to the pregnancy).  I'm very happy to say that he was born without any birth defects.  I had been seizure free for 2.5 years prior to giving birth.  After the birth of my son, I had 2 seizures within the first 6 months.  I can't stress how important it is that you get enough sleep to avoid seizures after giving birth.  I'm now taking 2500 mg of  Keppra and we're planning on trying for another child in the winter.  Wish us luck!
