Topic: Women With Epilepsy

Hello everyone I am 28 years old, female, with JME. My doctor has switched me from Depakote to Lamictal and now Keppra. I take Keppra 1000mg a day. Is there anyone, who is on Keppra, who is pregnant or who has had a baby. There is a ton of information of Lamictal and pregnancy but not much of Keppra and pregnancy. My husband and I want to start planning for a family, but we are VERY nervous. My ob/gyn put me on a prenatal vitamin and extra folic acid. I would appreciate any information from anyone. -aspepath

So my husband and I we recently got married and I’m here cause I’m a little scared of getting pregnant specially cause I’m under to different kinds of medication Levetiracetam 500mgs 3 tablets 2x a day and cabromazape 200mg 2 x a day. Don’t want it to affect my baby. What should I do what you guys suggest.

Hello my name is Elizabeth and Im 30 years old. I have 2 children. 1 on the way and I'm 15 weeks. I see my neurologist monthly she has me on keppra 1500mg a day. I was on depakote 750mg a day. I see my regular gyno and also a perinatal specialist. I have had 2 ultrasounds and another on the 29th of april. So far the doctors say the baby is very healthy and everything looks good and normal. I would love to breastfeed but don't know if I can. I will share any info I have with anyone that asks. I would like any info also.

I am 26 years old and 15 years ago i had 4 seizures and was put on meds. then about 3 weeks ago i went away and had a seizure just out of the blue. I was put on Keppra 500mg. It has been working fine. My husband and I are wanting to start a family.

I am just worried that if i stop taking the meds that it will happen again? I am waiting till i see the doctor again but am anchase to get the process started
