pregnancy and keppra

Topic: Women With Epilepsy
Hello everyone I am 28 years old, female, with JME. My doctor has switched me from Depakote to Lamictal and now Keppra. I take Keppra 1000mg a day. Is there anyone, who is on Keppra, who is pregnant or who has had a baby. There is a ton of information of Lamictal and pregnancy but not much of Keppra and pregnancy. My husband and I want to start planning for a family, but we are VERY nervous. My ob/gyn put me on a prenatal vitamin and extra folic acid. I would appreciate any information from anyone. -aspepath

Hi Alexia! I’m from Brazil too! I’m switching to Keppra because I’m planning a pregnancy....Do you know more women in Brazil that are taking Keppra in pregnancy? I’m quite afraid....

Hello my name is mary. I will be 17 weeks pregnant come tuesday. I am on 2000 miligrams of Keppra(1000 during the day and 1000 at night) and 4 miligrams of folic acid. This pregnancy was not planned. Just one day when to the obgyn and found out i was more than a month pregnant. Im 18 years old and im barley gaining any weight. However the babys heart beat is fine and so far everything is healthy. Iam scared though. so can anyone who has a child that was JME Epilepsy and taking medication of that dosage or higher email me with how there pregnancy turned out. im so nervous..
