lamictal for complex partial seizures

Dr. just suggested me to switch from trileptal to lamictal after 2 months of trial on trileptal, which seems doesn't work for me. Does anyone have well control of complex partial seizures using lamictal? Thanks.

nancy, hi there. i am on lamictal too. 7 years now with great success. only 150mgs daily- but i think i know what you mean about it not doing its job like it used to. i can feel the seizure knocking but it has not come in. i like klonopin as a sleep aid. are you getting enough sleep? do you take folic? i have just learned that lamictal really depletes folic. since you mentioned a pattern with your cycle maybe it is related to low folic levels. perhaps you should look into this angle.

Oh Krissy thank you so very very much. I didn't know folic acid and it's relationship to epilepsy. I didn't know that Lamictal depletes it. Now thanks to you I have something to investigate before I go to the neurologist on Weds. She's a seizure specialist but doesn't know everything of course. If Lamictal depletes folic acid then my multi, which gives me a 100% of it has been sabotaged all this time. I've always been on 700 or more. Boy oh boy. Thank you so very muvh Krissy.
