Hi Lisa, Do they check your liver too? That is where Shawns problem was. The med worked great for stopping the seizures but was hurting his liver.

No I have never had my liver checked. I have been on trileptal for about three years now. What signs did you see that made you think there was something wrong? How long was he on trileptal? Or did you doctor just checked his liver? What do they do to check the liver?

Trileptal can cause seizures for it decreases sodium. Just watch your sodium intake. I like trileptal alot I just get blood work every couple of weeks to check the sodium. Depakote made me very sick. I was off with in a month. But of course everyone is different.http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/EpilepsyApproach/Lisa
